Hestan Culinary is a cookware brand that aims to combine exceptional craftsmanship with long-lasting performance. Hestan Provisions is a line within the brand offering the essential tools every chef needs in their culinary toolkit.
The Hestan Provisions cookware pieces are built for even heat distribution using durable 3-ply clad construction, and they can be incorporated into a home or commercial kitchen.
Each piece comes with a lifetime warranty and a 45 day return policy.
The roasting pan weighs about 10 pounds and the dimensions are 17.92 inches x 12.5 inches x 5.57 inches.
This roasting pan fits easily into a standard oven and it can be washed in a sink by soaking it overnight and gently scrubbing away the bits in the morning with a soft dishcloth.
Additionally, it’s also safe to use on all types of oven cooktops, including an induction cooktop, making it ideal for making your gravy while the turkey cools.
Many roasters you see out there today are oven safe only up to 500°F and they’re compatible with every other type of cooktop, except induction.
Let’s look at the 16.5 inch Hestan Stainless Steel Classic Roaster:
The recipe we used for this turkey was Gordon Ramsay’s Roast Turkey, which includes a generous amount of herbed butter.
Here is our prepared turkey:
After cooking this turkey at 425°F for 15 minutes, we added a slab of bacon and cooked it at 350°F for another 3 hours, based on weight.
Here is the final turkey cooked in the Hestan Provisions 16.5” Stainless Steel Classic Clad Roaster:
After use, there were steam and grease marks on the outside of the pan, but these were easily washed off. The turkey was juicy, nicely browned and the pan held plenty of drippings for making gravy.
A final note on this roaster is that it is a durable tri-ply 3- 18/10 stainless steel with an aluminum core - it is not full stainless steel all the way through. The benefit of adding aluminum in the core is that it removes “hot spots” and improves the overall conductivity of the cookware piece.
Aluminum, like copper, is a softer metal, but it’s great for heat conductivity. The softness is why it is wedged between a harder metal like stainless steel giving you the best of both worlds - improved heat conductivity and durability.
All in all, this is a great roaster and it evenly cooked this turkey to perfection. We like that the 600°F temperature limit opens up the option for broiling roasts, and that it’s safe for newer oven cooktops with induction.
